SANTA MONICA, CA. (Recording Academy) - Kevin Bacon, T Bone Burnett, Sheryl Crow and Lance Armstrong, Anthony Hamilton, Amy Lee, Ricky Martin, Mario, Nelly and Rob Thomas to Present During Music's Biggest Night Hosted by Queen Latifah and Broadcast on CBS Feb. 13.

Current GRAMMY-nominee and two-time GRAMMY-winner Melissa Etheridge, in her first appearance since being diagnosed with breast cancer six months ago, is joined by current GRAMMY-nominee Joss Stone in a tribute to Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Janis Joplin; GRAMMY-nominee Jamie Foxx joins multi-nominee Alicia Keys; Godfather of Soul James Brown joins Usher who currently has eight GRAMMY nominations; Al Green joins the landmark fundraising segment for ongoing tsunami relief; and John Mayer joins the GRAMMY lineup, it was announced today by The Recording Academy. Newly announced presenters include Kevin Bacon, T Bone Burnett, Sheryl Crow and Lance Armstrong, Anthony Hamilton, Amy Lee (Evanescence), Ricky Martin, Mario, Nelly and Rob Thomas (matchbox twenty). Hosted by Queen Latifah, the 47th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be broadcast on the CBS Television Network on Feb. 13 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).
These artists join previously announced performances by Green Day, Alicia Keys, Tim McGraw, and U2; along with many special segments including Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony; an explosive show-opener featuring The Black Eyed Peas, Gwen Stefani (with Eve), Los Lonely Boys, Maroon5 and Franz Ferdinand; Kanye West with John Legend, Mavis Staples, and the Blind Boys Of Alabama; a tribute to Ray Charles featuring Bonnie Raitt and Billy Preston; a salute to Southern rock with Tim McGraw, Gretchen Wilson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Dickey Betts, Elvin Bishop, and Keith Urban; and a special musical segment to raise funds for tsunami relief efforts which will feature Bono, Stevie Wonder, Norah Jones, Alicia Keys, Velvet Revolver, Tim McGraw, and Brian Wilson.

Melissa Etheridge and Joss Stone Salute Janis Joplin
Rocker Melissa Etheridge and soul-singer Joss Stone will perform together for the first time in a tribute to '60s rock icon Janis Joplin. Etheridge has won two GRAMMY Awards and currently is nominated for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance ("Breathe"). Newcomer Stone is nominated for Best New Artist, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance ("You Had Me") and Best Pop Vocal Album (Mind, Body & Soul).

Alicia Keys Joined by Jamie Foxx
GRAMMY-nominated recording artist and Oscar-nominated actor Jamie Foxx will make a special appearance with Alicia Keys. Foxx is nominated for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration ("Slow Jamz" with Twista and Kanye West). Five-time GRAMMY winner Alicia Keys currently holds eight nominations: Album Of The Year and Best R&B Album (The Diary Of Alicia Keys); Song Of The Year and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance ("If I Ain't Got You"); two nominations in the Best R&B Song category ("My Boo," and "You Don't Know My Name"); and two nominations in the Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals category ("Diary" featuring Tony! Toni! Tone! and "My Boo," with Usher).

The "Godfather of Soul" James Brown will make an appearance with multi-nominee Usher, who has eight current nominations: Record Of The Year and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration ("Yeah!" with Lil' Jon and Ludacris), Album Of The Year and Best Contemporary R&B Album (Confessions), Best Male R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Song ("Burn"), and Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals and Best R&B Song ("My Boo" with Alicia Keys).

John Mayer, Al Green Added to Lineup
GRAMMY-winning singer/songwriter John Mayer will perform. He is nominated for two awards: Song Of The Year and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance ("Daughters"). Al Green will perform as part of the special musical segment to raise funds for tsunami relief efforts. Green is nominated for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance ("I Can't Stop").

Newly Announced Presenters
Newly announced presenters include three-time GRAMMY-winning rap artist Nelly, nine-time GRAMMY winner Sheryl Crow and champion cyclist Lance Armstrong, three-time GRAMMY winner Rob Thomas (matchbox twenty), lead singer of GRAMMY-winner and current nominee Evanescence Amy Lee, actor/recording artist (the Bacon Brothers) Kevin Bacon, current two-time GRAMMY nominee Anthony Hamilton, GRAMMY-winner Ricky Martin, current GRAMMY nominee Mario, and multiple GRAMMY winner T Bone Burnett. Nelly is nominated for Best Rap Album (Suit). Crow is nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance ("The First Cut Is The Deepest"). Hamilton is nominated for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance ("Charlene") and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration with Jadakiss ("Why"); Lee/Evanescence is nominated for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal ("My Immortal"). Mario is nominated for Best Contemporary R&B Album (Hurt No More); and Burnett is nominated for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album For A Motion Picture, Producer Of The Year Non-Classical (Cold Mountain), and Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media ("The Scarlet Tide").

These celebrities join the list of previously announced presenters: Tyra Banks, Ellen DeGeneres, Hoobastank, Norah Jones, Alison Krauss, Kris Kristofferson, Ludacris, Matthew McConaughey, Mark McGrath, Christina Milian, Lisa Marie Presley, Charlie Sheen, Gary Sinise, John Travolta, and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith.

Tsunami Relief Fundraising Performance
As previously announced, the telecast will feature a special fund-raising musical performance of John Lennon and Paul McCartney's "Across The Universe" on behalf of continued tsunami relief efforts. Viewers will be able to go directly to the iTunes Music Store to gain access to a download of the live performance of "Across The Universe" for $.99, and to CBS.com, which will offer exclusive video of the segment. All proceeds from downloads of the track will go to tsunami relief efforts benefiting survivors and their families. Special fund-raising musical segment participants will be donating their time and talents during the performance. Artists participating include Bono, Stevie Wonder, Norah Jones, Alicia Keys, Velvet Revolver, Tim McGraw, Brian Wilson, and Al Green.

The telecast will be broadcast in HDTV and 5.1 Surround Sound on the CBS Television Network at 8 p.m. (ET/PT). The show also will be supported on radio via Westwood One worldwide, and covered online at GRAMMY.com.
