NEW YORK ( Kate Voegele Website)
- Singer/songwriter Kate Voegele has just released her new EP, Louder
Than Words, which includes some revamped and previously unreleased
material. The songs were recorded with producer Marshall Altman (Marc
Broussard, Zebrahead) and have instantly drawn the attention of several
major labels that have already been following Kate's stellar young
career.
The eighteen-year-old Voegele recently performed at Farm
Aid along with Dave Matthews, Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John
Mellencamp. She was featured in the January 2005 issue of Cleveland
Magazine as one of the city's Most Interesting People.
Also in
the past year, Kate was also selected as a finalist for Northern Ohio
Live's 2003-2004 Awards of Achievement, and was one of three national
finalists in the Pantene Pro-Voice Competition, receiving national
exposure on MTV. Her song "Only Fooling Myself" was also featured in an
episode of CBS's drama Clubhouse.
Not only does she have a
great voice, Kate has the songwriting ability of someone twice her age.
In her new EP, as well as in her debut release, The Other Side, she
combines thoughtful lyrics with unforgettable hooks to create a
masterful and melodic acoustic rock project. In addition to Farm Aid,
Kate has supported John Mayer, Howie Day, Jamie Cullum, Mindy Smith,
and many other national acts while also gaining respect and recognition
through regional touring.
"Voegele has garnered a lot of
attention due to the maturity and accomplishment of her songwriting,
which increases her chances for long-term success in an industry that
can often be dismissive of the female folk diva of the moment."-Chorus
and Verse
