NEW YORK (MTV) - MTV: Music Television today announced that Simple Plan lead singer Pierre Bouvier will host its new "Sunday Stew" series DAMAGE CONTROL, premiering March 6 at 9:30 p.m.

"Simple Plan is a band that has really connected with our audience over the past two years, and we're excited to build upon that relationship by bringing Pierre into our 'Sunday Stew' line-up," commented Rod Aissa, Senior Vice President of Talent & Series Development. "Pierre's charisma and appeal will be a great fit for the 'Stew' block and we're eager to let our viewers see him in this new role."

Other acclaimed performers who got their start on MTV include Adam Sandler, Jon Stewart, and Chris Rock. The Sunday Stew includes "Punk'd" featuring Ashton Kutcher; "Pimp My Ride" featuring rapper and car enthusiast Xzibit, and "Viva La Bam" featuring Bam Margera.
"I am stoked to be working with MTV on this new series," added Bouvier. "I feel honored to be included in MTV's Sunday Stew lineup alongside Xzibit, Ashton, and Bam. It's an incredible opportunity."

DAMAGE CONTROL is a hilarious real-life version of the classic '80s comedy "Risky Business." Faced with compromising situations thanks to the DAMAGE CONTROL team of improv actors, the parents watch from next door with Bouvier, trying to guess just what their son or daughter might do next. When guest star/rapper Fat Joe stops by and offers to buy the family's house, will the subject of the prank sign the deal - without checking with his parents first? Will another subject star in a local politician's commercials after finding out that the politician isn't quite the upstanding citizen he appears to be? With cash at stake, how well do these parents know their kids, and how honest will these teenagers be with their parents when the parents return home. Guest stars include Vanilla Ice, Kelly Clarkson, Hulk Hogan, Vanessa Carlton, Omarion, J.C Chasez, Rob Schneider, Wee Man, T.I., the band Simple Plan, and many more. DAMAGE CONTROL's theme song is Simple Plan's "Me Against The World," from their platinum album Still Not Getting Any.

Although he has been the lead singer of Simple Plan since 1999, this will be Bouvier's first foray into hosting a television series. Simple Plan's newly released sophomore album "Still Not Getting Any..." went platinum after four months of release and features the Top-10 pop hit Welcome to My Life and current chart topper Shut Up. Their previous album "No Pads, No Helmets, Just Balls..." was released on Lava Records in 2002 and sold over 2 million albums and spawned several top 10 hits including "I'd Do Anything," "Addicted" and "Perfect." In addition, Simple Plan were honored in 2003 with a MTV Video Music Award nomination for Best New Artist and won the 2003 & 2004 MuchMusic People's Choice Award. Simple Plan was also nominated for a 2004 MTV Video Music Award, in the category of Viewer's Choice. For more information on Simple Plan, go to https://www.simpleplan.com

The "Sunday Stew" is one of the network's most successful and coveted programming blocks; last season, the Sunday Stew block was the most watched in its time period (Sun 9-10:30p) among males 12-17 versus all of television, even out-delivering broadcast. In addition, the Sunday Stew block ranked number one in its time period among P12-24 versus all cable programming reaching 30.5 million viewers.
