SYDNEY, Australia (Sony BMG Australia) - The amazing Bette Midler hits our shores next month for the first time in 26 years with her not-to-be-missed, record-breaking theatrical extravaganza 'KISS MY BRASS!' - a second show at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre goes on sale this Wednesday.
"I'm not retiring... ...and you can't make me!" Bette Midler

It's been 26 years since the world-renowned entertainer Bette Midler toured Australia on her record-breaking THE DIVINE MISS M TOUR, which sold out an unprecedented 34 shows in 1979 - Australia just could not get enough!

Now in 2005, promoters Garry Van Egmond, Jack Utsick and Michael Chugg are bringing the amazing Bette Midler back to Australia in April to perform her lavishly staged, critically acclaimed hit show KISS MY BRASS! in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.

Midler's biggest show to date will feature all the songs and characters for which she is famous, including such classics as 'The Rose', 'Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy', 'Wind Beneath My Wings', and selected songs from her recent release, Bette Midler Sings the Rosemary Clooney Songbook on Columbia Records.

The two hour show, which has been described as a Broadway-esque concert event features multiple costume changes and is framed by a huge spectacular stage set, which re-creates Coney Island at the turn of the 19th century. Bette is backed up on stage by a 12-piece band plus the singing and dancing trio of Harlettes.

KISS MY BRASS! was the sixth highest selling tour in the US in 2004, the tour has been praised by critics and fans alike. The Los Angeles Times praised the show as "funny and tender" while the New Yorker proclaimed it "extraordinary". Not to be left out, The New York Times declared the show "enormously entertaining", and Time called Midler a "full service entertainer".

A versatile performer whose career spans music, film and theatre, Bette Midler consistently draws raves. With her unique ability to seamlessly blend drama and comedy, she brings her signature blend of class and crass to every performance. She has sold more than 14 million albums over the course of her career.

Since releasing her first album The Divine Miss M in 1972, Bette has been awarded a combined total of 25 gold, platinum and multi-platinum certifications from the RIAA for her albums and singles. Her current release, Bette Midler 'Sings the Rosemary Clooney Songbook' has been certified gold.
