CHICAGO, IL. (Fresh and Clean Media/ www.freshcleanmedia.com) - Parkways Foundation has finalized details for this year's Lollapalooza festival. The event will take place in Chicago's Grant Park on July 23 & 24. Referred to as the city's "front yard," Grant Park is right in the heart of downtown Chicago and is bordered on the east by Lake Michigan.

Capital Sports & Entertainment (CSE) and Charles Attal Presents, producers of the successful Austin City Limits Festival, have joined to revitalize the Lollapalooza brand by bringing in their unique take on the music festival set up and directive. "Lollapalooza is an experience, not just a concert," said CSE spokesperson Charlie Jones. "The venue, environment, and community are critical in shaping that experience. We want this to be an event that the city can own and embrace. Grant Park is a beautiful green space, is convenient and accessible for attendees, and is a signature contributor to quality of life in this city. It's as much a star as any performer on stage."

"We at Parkways Foundation are thrilled at the opportunity Capital Sports & Entertainment has provided for us with this new revenue source!" said Parkways Foundation President, Noren Ungaretti. "This will help us do even more for the families who use Chicago's parks."

The 2-day event will showcase over 60 bands on 5 stages and will incorporate art, fashion, food, and activities for kids, cultural elements and sensory surprises that the Lollapalooza experience is known for.

Lollapalooza offered 2000 two-day passes for a deeply discounted $35. The Lollapalooza subscriber e-list was notified via email and the web site communicated the sale as well. The 2000 tickets sold in approximately 80 minutes. As a bonus to those who took the leap of faith and purchased early, these 2000 passes are specially printed souvenir tickets.
Tickets go on sale on April 22nd, just following the Lollapalooza press conference (taking place in Chicago) via www.lollapalooza.com.

At current, the band line up includes: Ambulance LTD, The Arcade Fire, Billy Idol, The Black Keys, Blonde Redhead, Blue Merle, The Bravery, Cake, Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Changes, The Dandy Warhols, Dashboard Confessional, Death Cab for Cutie, DeSoL, Dinosaur Jr., Digable Planets, G. Love & Special Sauce, Kaiser Chiefs, Kasabian, The Killers, Liz Phair, Los Amigos Invisibles, Louis XIV, M83, Pixies, The Redwalls, Tegan and Sara, The Walkmen, The Warlocks, Weezer, Widespread Panic, World Leader Pretend, Z-Trip.

Organized in 1991 by Jane's Addiction front man Perry Farrell, Lollapalooza was a pivotal moment in alternative music history. The festival was the first large-scale showcase in the US for the burgeoning alternative music scene. It ran for 7 straight years before taking a break.

Lollapalooza is presented by Parkways Foundation and produced by Capital Sports & Entertainment and Charles Attal Presents. They are partnered with Perry Farrell, Lollapalooza founder and creative consultant, and William Morris Agency. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Parkways, a non-profit organization that brings private investment to enhance Chicago's neighborhood parks.
