BURBANK, CA. (www.gabedixonband.com) - In support of the upcoming August 9th release of the "Live At World Cafe" EP, The Gabe Dixon Band has announced a series of live shows. The tour will kick off with a return visit to Philadelphia's World Cafe Live, where their EP was recorded earlier this year, and will finish with a homecoming concert to be broadcast live on Nashville radio station Lightning 100. The new EP features in-studio and on-stage originals penned by the band's leader and namesake, Gabe Dixon, including co-writes with Grammy Award nominee Dan Wilson (Semisonic) and Grammy Award winner Wayne Kirkpatrick (Eric Clapton's "Change The World"), and a version of "Hey Joe" that the music industry publication The Lefsetz Letter has called "the best...since the one on (Jimi Hendrix's) 'Are You Experienced.'" In his mid-20's, Gabe Dixon has already earned praise for his work as a keyboardist and vocalist for artists as respected and varied as Paul McCartney, Loggins & Messina, and Alison Krauss. Billboard magazine wrote that live the band "offered a nice reminder: Real Music By Real People is far more meaningful than the prefab alternative."
