The CD contains 16 tracks of pure rap and hip-hop influenced by the likes of Salt-N-Pepa, Sweet T, Big Daddy Kane and M.C. Lyte. In the world of hip hop music, The Jamaica, Queens born native is also known as the Thug Mistress for her hardcore lyrics and controlling method. Boosted early in her career by a previewing of her music by Jam Master Jay, JMJ was said to have been as impressed by Ava's writing as he was with her rapping skill. Having already established glowing reviews by her peers for her contributions on recent mix tapes composed by the likes of Kay Slay, D.J.Envy , Cutmaster C, and others, Ava is a star on the rise. 'I became an artist for the love of the beats and they way artist where able to flow off the top of there head,' Ava recalls. 'It was amazing how they can create a masterpiece by standing around in a cipher free styling and using each person in the cipher as a food to fuel there next rhyme.' Having collaborated with such stars as Big Kap, Lloyd Banks and Blackchild, Ava has qualified as an artist poised to show the world her undeniable talent. Most recently, Ava released an underground CD titled Almost Famous. 'I wouldn't say that I am special I am more so unique,' Ava explains. 'I write my own rhymes and I have the ability to go into the studio and deliver my lyrics exactly the way I had them in my head.
