LONDON, UK (AP) - After pleading not guilty to common assault and criminal damage charges in Bow Street Magistrates Court in London in October, Jamiroquai singer Jay Kay is off the hook.

The charges against the singer, stemming from an alleged assault of photographer Dennis Gil, have been dropped by the Crown prosecution Service for insufficient evidence, according to the BBC.

Kay was accused of smashing the photographer's camera in April outside the Attica nightclub in London's West End shortly after the singer had split up with his former fiance'e, Denise van Oute.
