CALGARY, Canada (CCMA PR) - The Canadian Country Music Association released today an initial list of performers for the CCMA Awards to be held September 12 in Calgary at Pengrowth Saddledome. The show will be broadcast on CBC with encore airings on CMT, and continues to be the only Canadian awards show to air live in the U.S. (this year on GAC or Great American Country). For the first time the show will also air in Australia (on CMC or Country Music Channel).

Host Paul Brandt, nominated for six 2005 CCMA Awards will perform his self-penned new release 'Alberta Bound' in a special tribute for Alberta's Centennial year which will include two of Canada's and Alberta's most unique artists, Ian Tyson and Corb Lund. Also up for six CCMA Awards, first time nominee The Road Hammers is onboard, along with multi-nominated stars George Canyon, Terri Clark, Carolyn Dawn Johnson and Manitoba band Doc Walker.

In addition, producers announced that one of the hottest new international stars on tour, Dierks Bentley, will present and perform. Bentley has hit it big with the songs 'Lot of Leavin' Left to Do' and 'What Was I Thinkin' 'both of which include Canadian star Deric Ruttan in the writing credits.

Staging for this year's show at Pengrowth Saddledome will be one of the most ambitious undertakings in the production's history. Audiences will have tremendous sight lines with multiple performance stages on the arena floor, along with visual effects and camera shots reproduced on a giant, 360 degree projection surface encircling the Saddledome's lower bowl. Producers are calling the design 'a first' for an awards show presentation, and are promising viewers and ticket holders 'a one-of-a-kind experience'.

Tickets to the CCMA Awards are selling briskly and can be purchased online at https://www.ticketmaster.ca or at (403) 777-0000. More information at https://www.ccma.org.

The Canadian Country Music Awards will be broadcast Monday, September 12 on CBC at 8 p.m./9 p.m. AT/9:30 p.m. NT from Pengrowth Saddledome in Calgary with encore broadcasts at a later date on CMT in Canada. The show will also be aired live in the U.S. on GAC, and for the first time in Australia on CMC.
