NASHVILLE, TN. (www.cosmicmulemusic.com) - Singer/songwriter Georgette Jones has signed a publishing agreement with Cosmic Mule
Music Group. Jones is the daughter of country music legends Tammy Wynette and
George Jones, and has a development deal with RCA.
In addition to writing for her new project, which will be produced by Keith Stegall, Georgette Jones has recently been seen on the Opry (introduced by her dad and backed by the Jones Boys). She was also featured on CMT Insider, and interviewed her dad for Country Weekly magazine about his new album, Hits I Missed... And One I Didn't. This album has already created a buzz about George Jones' new version of the No 1 country song, He Stopped Loving Her Today." The interview is bittersweet as Tammy Wynette interviewed George for Country Music Magazine in 1980, when the song first was first released.
"Both Jackie Bradshaw and Jim Foster have helped me so much I can't even begin to say," said Jones. "They have helped me learn the business of songwriting, but more importantly, they have treated me like family. They are trustworthy, decent people, and that can sometimes be hard to find in this business. I am thrilled to be at Cosmic Mule Music Group."
Cosmic Mule Music Group is an independently owned music publishing group founded in 2003 by Jim Foster, with partners Jackie Bradshaw, Jim Lacamp and Adrian Carmack. They achieved immediate success with their first cut, Lonestar's No 1 smash hit, "My Front Porch Lookin' In." "Mr. Mom," a second No 1 by the same group, soon followed. Many other songs in the relatively new catalog have been recorded and are scheduled for release this year and in 2006, including "What's Wrong With That," which is on the newest Lonestar album and scheduled to be singled. There is also an upcoming release on Kenny Rogers' new album, "You'll Know Love," featuring Vince Gill on harmonies.
In addition to Georgette Jones, Cosmic Mule Music Group's staff writers include Mark McGuinn, Jim Foster, Don Pfrimmer, Jackie Bradshaw, Dennis McCracken, Hollie Jett, Kevin Johnston, and Jim Lacamp. They also represent the catalogs of Bobby Whiteside and Roger West.
Cosmic Mule Music Group has recently released through their record label, Blue Flamingo Records, the Mark McGuinn single "Bring 'Em Back," signaling the return of McGuinn to country radio. Radio tests are positive and are currently racking up adds across the country. Mark's new album, One Man's Crazy, features a duet with Georgette Jones, "Better a Painful Ending," and will be distributed by Welk Music Group.
