LOS ANGELES (Everfine Records) - After a summer of hard work headlining a hugely successful tour and putting the finishing touches on Stories of a Stranger, a brand new album set for an October 4th release on Everfine/Lava Records, the five young men of O.A.R. are currently taking a few well deserved weeks of R&R. But come mid-October the Rockville, MD based quintet will head back out doing what they do best, bringing their distinctive brand of rock and roll to fans in 30 cities across the United States and Canada. Joining forces with new media partner MySpace.com, the tour trek begins on October 14th in Memphis, Tennessee and culminates at the Tweeter Center in Camden, NJ. (A complete list of dates is attached)

Attendance at O.A.R.'s live shows has been growing exponentially. The band will have performed in front of 500,000 people by the end of 2005 and recently sold over 22,000 tickets in the New York area alone, impressing critics all along the way. Steve Morse of the Boston Globe recently described O.A.R.'s Boston performance where the band played to upwards of 10,000 fans: "O.A.R.'s confidence was in full glory... The music was flush with playful twists and turns, sudden temp changes, accelerating ensemble jams, and unexpected dipdowns that had the crowd going absolutely wild."

Stories of a Stranger was produced by Jerry Harrison, who besides being a former member of The Talking Heads has handled production duties for bands like Live, No Doubt and the Von Bondies. The album was recorded at Crystalphonic Recording Studio in Charlottesville, VA, Sausalito Sound in California and Chung King Studios in New York City. Beginning this Friday, fans can pre-order Stories of a Stranger on the band's website www.ofarevolution.com .

In addition to the partnership with Myspace.com, which will entail a whole host of contests and activities, the band has just announced that they will offer The Stranger EP exclusively on iTUNES beginning on August 30th. The download will consist of the album version of the band's single "Love and Memories" and an acoustic version of another album track, "The Stranger."

"Love and Memories" is impacting radio on Sept 20th and has already been added to powerhouse stations like WHFS and WWDC. The band is in the process of making a video for the track. And while the mainstream music media may just be beginning to embrace O.A.R., their audience know they are one of the most successful rock outfits out there, playing to well over a quarter of a million fans this summer alone.
