Big Daddy Weave will begin its Fall 'What I Was Made For' headline tour Oct. 12 in the
Houston market.
Touring in support of its critically acclaimed third release, What I Was Made For, Big Daddy Weave will visit select cities throughout the US through mid Nov. Joining the band will be applauded Rocketown artist Ginny Owens and heralded newcomer Michael Olson.

Big Daddy Weave instantly hit the spotlight in 2002 as their first project, One and Only, appeared in SoundScan's Christian Top 5, the highest debut for a new artist that year. Further honored with a Gospel Music Association Dove Award nomination for 'New Artist of the Year' in 2002, the band garnered its first CHR No. 1 at radio with 'Audience of One.' Other hit songs include 'In Christ,' also from One and Only, and Fields Of Grace, the title track from Big Daddy Weave's 2003 release.
Big Daddy Weave band members Mike and brother Jay Weaver, Jeremy Redmon, Jeff Jones and Joe Shirk recorded their new album, What I Was Made For, amidst devastation left by 2004's Hurricane Ivan. Based in Mobile, Alabama, the band lost its main offices and the Weaver's family home. What I Was Made For includes the current Top-10 AC hit, 'Just The Way I Am,' in addition to the No. 1 AC hit, 'You're Worthy Of My Praise,' which features labelmates BarlowGirl.
Rocketown recording artist Ginny Owens won her first Dove Award in 2000 for New Artist of the Year, reflecting the success of her debut album, Without Condition. In addition to three No. 1 radio hits and Presidential performances, she has additionally appeared on Lilith Fair (1999), at the Sundance Film Festival (2000) and on National Public Radio. With two more studio projects as well as an acoustic EP, this past Spring Owens released her first live CD, recorded in 2004 at the House of Blues in New Orleans. Blind since the age of two, her original goal was to be a teacher, and she earned a degree in Music Education from Belmont University in Nashville and additionally launched her own non-profit organization, The Fingerprint Initiative. Described by Billboard as 'a songwriter of incredible depth,' Owens fourth studio album, Long Way Home, is set to release Oct. 11.
Inspired by the likes of Michael W. Smith, James Taylor and Sting, Rocketown recording artist Michael Olson always knew he was meant to be a singer/songwriter and even won the Assemblies of God National Fine Arts Festival merit award for male vocal solo while in high school. In 2002, he graduated from North Central University in Minneapolis with a general music degree (vocal emphasis/piano minor). In addition to working as a session vocalist and musician (he plays piano, guitars and drums) as well as producing a few indie projects, Michael Olson excels as a songwriter. Following his participation on the 2004 Gloria Christmas tour as well as a run as the opening act, on Shaun Groves' Spring 2005 tour, Olson released his debut CD, Long Arm of Love, this summer.
