Taking Back Sunday In The Studio

BURBANK, CA (Warner Bros. Records) - Melodic hardcore rockers Taking Back Sunday have entered a Los Angeles recording studio to begin work on their third album and first for Warner Bros. Records. The currently untitled album is being produced by Eric Valentine (Queens of the Stone Age, Third Eye Blind) and will be released in 2006. Since roaring onto the scene with their 2002 debut, "Tell All Your Friends," the New York-based quintet - which now includes lead vocalist Adam Lazarra, guitarist-vocalist Fred Mascherino, guitarist Eddie Reyes, bassist Matt Rubano, and drummer Mark O'Connell - have captivated fans and critics alike with their powerful and inventive pop-tinged hardcore anthems, dueling emotional vocals, and twin guitar assault. In July 2004, the band followed up the half-million selling "Friends" with "Where You Want to Be," which debuted at Number Three on the Billboard Top 200 and sold more than 163,000 copies its first week out. "Where You Want to Be" has since been certified gold and has sold nearly 700,000 copies to date.

This past spring, Taking Back Sunday completed a co-headlining arena tour of North America with Jimmy Eat World and performed two sold-out shows at London's Milton Keynes National Bowl with Green Day in June 2005. In July, Taking Back Sunday released "Error Operator," which appeared on the soundtrack to the smash hit summer movie "Fantastic Four." They also contributed a medley cover of two Descendents songs, "Suburban Home" and "I Like Food," to pro skateboarder Tony Hawk's upcoming video game and soundtrack "American Wasteland." www.takingbacksunday.com
