NEW YORK, NY (The Orchard) - The Orchard, the leading distributor and marketer of independent music in the world, today announced that it is digitally marketing a specially recorded rendition of "Home Sweet Home" by Motley Crue and Linkin Park's Chester Bennington to benefit the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief Effort and Mercy Corps. The Orchard is initially making the benefit single available exclusively on iTunes starting today, followed by wide distribution to more than 125 of the world's leading digital music stores, including eMusic, Napster, MSN, Real/Rhapsody, and Yahoo!/Musicmatch.

In addition, The Orchard will supply the single through its distribution partnerships with the leading mobile companies around the world, the largest mobile network of any distributor, spanning over 200 global services including Sprint, Dwango Wireless, Zingy, 9 Squared, IAM Mobile, Arvato Mobile and Hudson Soft.

One hundred percent of the proceeds are being donated by the artists and The Orchard to the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief Effort and Mercy Corps.
Motley Crue joined forces with Chester Bennington of Linkin Park on Saturday, September 10th in Nashville for a live performance of Motley Crue's hit single from "Home Sweet Home." Their performance aired as part of the MTV/VH1/CMT "React Now Music + Relief" initiative and was dedicated to the survivors of Hurricane Katrina. Following their performance, the band and Chester went into Nashville's Ocean Way Studio to record a special version of "Home Sweet Home." The single was produced by Grammy-winning producer Desmond Child and accompanied by a full, 26-person gospel choir and string arrangement section.

"In the face of an unprecedented natural disaster in America that has profoundly affected millions of people, The Orchard is proud to stand with other members of the music community to help bring relief to those most in need," said Greg Scholl, chief executive of The Orchard and managing director of Dimensional Associates, the company that owns The Orchard, eMusic and Dimensional Music Publishing. "Motley Crue and Chester Bennington, like many recording artists, have given of themselves, and they have created a very special benefit single. We are honoured to support their efforts."
