(EMI-CMG) - EMI-CMG, in partnership with Word Entertainment and Provident Label Group, prepares for the October 4 release of WOW Hits 2006, the next installment in Christian’s music best-selling series.

Marketed and distributed by EMI-CMG, WOW Hits 2006 is the ultimate collection of the year’s top Christian artists and packages as a double-CD. Covering numerous genres of Christian music, including pop, adult contemporary, rock and worship, WOW Hits 2006 includes 12 No. 1 singles and 14 Top 10 songs from favorite artists such as Third Day, Steven Curtis Chapman, Casting Crowns, Jeremy Camp, Amy Grant, BarlowGirl, Kutless, Building 429 and Jars of Clay, among others (complete list below).

Launched in 1995, the WOW series marks its 10th anniversary this year. To date, the series has sold more than 15 million albums and expects to surpass 16 million with launch of WOW Hits 2006. The WOW series already has four RIAA certified double platinum, nine platinum and eight gold albums, making the series a trusted source for the Christian music fan looking for the premier collection of the year’s best songs.

The unique collaboration of the three Christian music industry leaders to create the WOW brand series has steadily broadened the consumer base for contemporary Christian music. In 2000, the Gospel Music Association honored WOW with an Impact Award for its impression in expanding the reach and awareness of the genre. The projects further benefit the artists, allowing the consumers to sample various music prior to purchasing specific titles. According to the American Research Group, 74 percent of WOW buyers have later bought an album from an artist featured on a project.

The companion DVD, WOW Hits 2006: The Videos, features Chris Tomlin, David Crowder Band, tobyMac, Shawn McDonald, Kids In The Way, Relient K, Out Of Eden, John Reuben, Grits, Jeremy Camp, Kutless, Hawk Nelson, Michael W.
