Sydney, AU. (SONY BMG Music Entertainment) - Yes yes y'all, OutKast have set a date for their new album! The dynamic duo of Andre 3000 and Big Boi will set their new album free on December 4. The album, 'Idlewild', will be the soundtrack to a forthcoming film starring the OutKast boys and slated for release in January 2006. There's been a lot of talk about the upcoming OutKast record, and now we can happily say that it will be released on December 4. Although the album will serve as the soundtrack to the film written by Dre and Big (tentatively called 'Idlewild' as well), it will also stand alone from the film as an extraordinary OutKast record. The guys have said in the past that 'Idlewild' will definitely still sound like OutKast, but with a Thirties ragtime feel - the era in which the film is set. "Since it's in the Thirties, we didn't want to use too many synthesizers and keys," Big Boi told Rolling Stone. "It's like an OutKast record on film." Rolling Stone also reported that one of the tracks on the album, 'Idlewild Blues,' "is a jazzy romp loaded with drum stomps, muffled trumpets and piano." 'Idlewild' is the follow-up to 2003's brilliant double-album 'Speakerboxxx/The Love Below' and is set to prove the undeniable talent of Andre 3000 and Big Boi. Look out for the first new OutKast single hitting radio in early November!
