Sydney, AU. (SONY BMG Music Entertainment) - It's been a long wait for Ricky Martin fans, but the pop megastar's new album has finally arrived! 'Life', featuring the absolutely slammin' single 'I Don't Care' is in stores now, but if you were expecting the exact same Ricky of old, then think again - we've got a fabulous new Ricky Martin on our hands!
Ricky Martin's new album 'Life' features production from some of the hottest names in the biz including Scott Storch, Sean Garrett, will.i.am, Luny Tunes, George Noriega and Danny López, and the hitmaking songwriting/production team The Matrix, among others. The sexy new set has a more global sound and a dose of urban attitude - no more evident than on the first single, 'I Don't Care', which features the stunning Amerie and rapper Fat Joe.

"I hope I'm not the same artist I was five years ago, because it would be impossible," Ricky told media at a 'Life' listening party earlier in the year.
"Life - where it takes you, what you see, what you read - changes you. Definitely, when I began to create for this album, the one thing I wanted was to not even attempt to do what I had already done. That's why I played with many genres I hadn't visited before, and I made them mine."

A number of genres rear their heads on 'Life', culminating in a release that cannot be easily categorized. Eclectic, cross-cultural and global in every sense of the word, 'Life' is a brilliant album full of contrasts.
"After spending time in silence, away from the stage, I had the time to travel and exchange ideas with people from all over the world - Brazil, Thailand, India, Egypt - and from all walks of life," says Ricky.

"Being influenced by all these cultures in a creative process, I've learned how connected we all are. I have been able to focus on simple things that make life powerful. In each song on my album, we describe, through lyrics or music, stories that not only represent my personal experiences, but also scenarios that I have witnessed. As I produced this album, I simply allowed life to happen. This album is the result of those experiences."
