LOS ANGELES, CA.( El Premio LLC ) - Thousands of music fans turned out for the seventh annual El Premio de la Gente, Latin Music Fan Awards at the historic Forum in Los Angeles. The event featured the biggest names in Latin music. The two-hour television broadcast of this popular awards celebration will air nationwide, as well as internationally in more than 15 Latin American countries, on October 29, 2005 at 7:00 PM EST, on the Telemundo Television Network. The hosts for El Premio de la Gente were famed impersonator Julio Sabala and Telemundo's hot personality, Monica Noguera.

This year's show was comprised of outstanding and inventive musical production numbers with never-before-seen combinations of Latino performers in new and unique settings. Performances included "Generacion Rock," featuring artists such as Andrea Echeverri from Aterciopelados, Pato from Control Machete and Maldita Vecindad and "Club Reggaeton," a piece recreating the music and lifestyle of today's most popular new music with some of today's best sellers Hector El Bambino, Ivy Queen and Wisin y Yandel. "Hay Una Respuesta," an inspiring song that addresses the AIDS epidemic, featured artists like Julissa, Samuel Hernandez, Yuri, Marcos Witt, and Maria del Sol performing together. "La Primeras Damas," a medley of three Ranchera hits by three First Ladies: featuring Graciela Beltran, Jenni Rivera and Jimena. Plus a special segment, "Las Estrellas del Futuro" featuring some of today's up and coming artists, Ha*Ash, Mariana and MDO and also a special performance by La 5a Estacion.

For the third consecutive year, Chevrolet participated as the title and exclusive automotive sponsor of El Premio de la Gente. "Chevrolet is excited to showcase some of its hottest products alongside some of today's brightest stars in the Latin music industry," said Kim Kosak, Chevrolet general director of advertising and sales promotion. "Music is a strong part of Chevrolet's tradition and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to recognize rising Latino talent."

"El Premio de la Gente is a celebration of what makes Latin music so vibrant - the variety of styles and influences that have created such a robust Latin music industry. We honor music fans and their passions by allowing them to choose the award winners. We are absolutely thrilled about this great night celebrating Latin music and the special performances. The contagious energy of Latin music will flood the Telemundo broadcast on October 29th and we cannot wait to share the show with music fans around the world," said Luis Medina, executive producer and founder of the event.
