NEW YORK (AP) - U.K. 2-step sensation
Craig David has confirmed dates for his first full-scale North American tour. Due to kick off Jan. 29 at Billboard Live in Miami, the Armani Jeans-sponsored tour will last through a Feb. 26 finale in Seattle.
Craig, who is touring in support of his Wildstar/Atlantic debut "Born To Do It," will be backed on the tour by an eight-piece band. That's in contrast to his current performances on a host of radio station-sponsored holiday show bills, where he is accompanied only by guitarist Fraser T. Smith. In October, the duo turned in a memorable performance of the Beatles' "Come Together" during Come Together: A Night for John Lennon's Words & Music, which was broadcast live on TNT.
David's remaining radio station holiday concert appearances will find him criss-crossing the country. He's scheduled to perform tonight (Dec. 17) at Seattle's Stadium Exhibition Center for KBKS, tomorrow at New York's Madison Square Garden for WKTU, and Wednesday at KIIS-FM's Jingle Ball at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
"Born To Do It" reached No. 11 on The Billboard 200, and is currently No. 92 on the chart. First single "Fill Me In" reached No. 15 on The Billboard Hot 100 and No. 19 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart.
The set's latest single, "7 Days," is at No. 35 on The Hot 100, and debuted at No. 65 on last week's R&B/Hip-Hop tally. The supporting video clip, directed by Max and Dania (Shaggy, Debelah Morgan), is in rotation on MTV, MTV2, VH1, and MuchMusic USA.
