DETROIT, MI (Latin Grammy) - Salvador Torres, Best Mexican-American Performance GRAMMY Nominee and one of Latin Music's grand 'elder statesmen', will receive the EXCELLENCE IN ENTERTAINMENT Award from Detroit's Hispanic Business Alliance (HBA) during its 27th Annual Holiday Awards Gala to be held Friday, December 2nd, at the Roostertail in Detroit, Michigan.
Awards will be conferred in six categories, including Excellence in Business, Excellence in Education, Excellence in Government, Excellence in Community Development, Excellence in Entertainment and recognize leaders and advocates for Detroit Area Hispanic businesses and communities. Originally from Guanajuato, Mexico, Salvador has called Detroit home since 1972.
As one of the world's premier Mariachi artists, Salvador and his band 'El Mariachi Mexico 2000' have been standouts in the community ever since. With an illustrious career enduring nearly 50 years, Salvador continues to inspire many young, up-and-coming artists and has touched many around the globe with his music.
