NEW YORK (Soulfrito Official Wwebsite) - Soulfrito The Urban Latin Music Festival, the first festival of its kind in the U.S to celebrate Urban Latin music, culture and the arts, defied all the odds this year with an explosive and memorable festival, returning for a fourth year after having to reschedule its date following hurricane Wilma.

Highlights of the festival included Wisin y Yandel, who took to the stage in front of a screaming audience to perform their massive chart-topping number one hit Rakatta. Also adding to this year's memorable line-up were the lovely Natalie and Nicole, alias Nina Sky, along with Fulanito, who paid tribute to the success of Soulfrito in front of a packed media room, backstage following their performance.

After ten hours of sensational entertainment, Salsa princess India performed a spectacular finale, with her sixteen-piece band. Memorable performances also came from New York icon Tony Touch together with Notch and female favorite Platano. Artist Kiki Valdes painted the night away on stage to pay tribute to musical legends Celia, Big Pun and Tito Puente.

This year's festival was attended by more than 6.000 music fans, with New York broadcaster and Urban Latin icon Angie Martinez hosting the event for a second year, alongside celebrity co-host Fatman Scoop, who ended up taking his shirt off in front off a packed Bayfront Park Amphitheater.

"Despite having to reschedule the event following hurricane Wilma, we believe this year's event was the smoothest production and the most memorable," said 22 year-old founder Melissa Giles. The attendance figures and reaction from the audience was extremely pleasing. The combination of number one hit newcomers such as Wisin and Yandel, together with legendary performers India and Fulanito, proved to be a tremendously successful formula that we will repeat for future Soulfrito events over the years to come."

Soulfrito will be rolling-out nationwide in Spring of 2006 with its "Unplugged" nationwide club tour in key Latin markets, showcasing a variety of popular acts, new musicians and performers.
