NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Country music singer Deana Carter was arrested and charged with drunken driving early Friday morning, police said. The arrest report said Carter was stopped for driving 48 mph in a 30 mph zone. The officer said he smelled alcohol on her breath. The 35-year-old singer failed a field sobriety test and refused to take a breath test, the report said. She was taken before a night court commissioner and released. Carter's first album, "Did I Shave My Legs for This?'' sold more than 4 million copies. The Country Music Association named her hit "Strawberry Wine'' the single of the year in 1997.
