BOSTON, Mass. (AP) - A 17-year-old Massachusetts boy was ordered to listen to Afroman's " Because I Got High" and to write a three-paragraph summary of the song Wednesday (December 19) when Judge Nancy R. Dusek-Gomez sentenced him for being caught with a marijuana pipe, a liter of Jim Beam whiskey, and 10 bottles of beer in his car, the Union-News reported. Dusek-Gomez told Matthew W. Fournier, from West Hartford, that he should listen to the song, which conveys remorse for getting high. She quoted a line from the song: "Now I'm a quadriplegic and I know why, because I got high." She added that Fournier was an embarrassment to his mother. Fournier was pulled over by police on November 3 because his car was missing a registration plate light. When speaking to Fournier, the officer noticed a marijuana pipe and flakes in the car.
