NEW YORK, NY (KOCH Records) - Snoop Dogg has been rallying to fight the scheduled December 13th execution of Stanley "Tookie" Williams. At this stage in the process, only a clemency can save Tookie. However, in a new development, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has agreed to meet with Williams' defense team. Jamie Foxx, the Academy Award winning-actor/and now singer who played the role of Tookie Williams in the acclaimed film Redemption (which was based on Tookie's life story), has added a part to "Real Soon," the new single from DPGC (featuring Snoop, Kurupt, Daz & Nate Dogg). The song will be featured on the upcoming album, "Snoop Dogg Presents Welcome to Tha Chuuch - Da Album." Snoop is hoping that this new collaboration will create further awareness for Tookie's plight. You can listen to it now at https://www.savetookie.com/. The video for the single will world premiere on YAHOO!/LAUNCH on December 1, 2005 and will be available at: https://music.yahoo.com/promos/premieres/. In an eerie aside, the scheduled day of Tookie's execution (December 13, 2005) coincides with both Jamie Foxx's birthday and the release of "Snoop Dogg Presents Welcome to Tha Chuuch - Da Album." Since beginning his incarceration, Tookie has taken a very positive approach by looking into himself. He's focused on the choices he had made in his life and then committed himself to making drastic changes. The long, difficult process he undertook to rebuild his character put him in touch with his true spirit, his own humanity. Only then could Tookie finally begin to care about the many children, mothers, fathers and other family members of this country hurt by a criminal legacy that he's been indirectly responsible for. Tookie has been nominated four times for the Nobel Literature Prize for his children's books that warn young people about the pitfalls of joining a gang and exposes them to alternatives.
