NASHVILLE, TN (Rascal Flatts Official Website) - 2005 is already on the books as the biggest career year for Rascal Flatts with a highly successful concert tour, multiple awards and radio success. Just last week the band learned of their first-ever Grammy nomination for mega-smash 'Bless The Broken Road' and the icing on the cake comes this week with the announcement that Billboard Monitor has named them as 2005 Country Artist of The Year.
The honor also bears record breaking news as Rascal Flatts become the first group in Monitor's 13-year history to take the title. All previous honors have gone to solo male artists.

The super group spent a combined 8 weeks in 2005 at No.1 in Billboard for hits 'Bless The Broken Road' and 'Fast Cars and Freedom' and original hidden track song 'Skin (Sarabeth)' remained on the chart for 35 weeks and peaked at No. 2.

The guys can be seen tonight on TNT's Christmas in Washington Special and will head to Las Vegas next week to perform 'Bless The Broken Road' on NBC's Radio Music Awards. The song is nominated as Song of the Year at Country Radio.
