LOS ANGELES (AP) - A live concert from 1992 by saxophonist Dave Koz and his special guest, singer Phil Perry, has been put on DVD for fans to enjoy. The new disc, titled Dave Koz/Phil Perry: Live At The Strand! is set for release on January 22, 2002. The 60-minute DVD features a show given by the two at the Strand club in Los Angeles, and is a glimpse into the roots of two established smooth jazz stars. At the time of the show, Koz had just established himself as a solo artist with the 1990 album Dave Koz, and was preparing to release 1993's Lucky Man. Veteran solo artist and background singer Perry, who had bowed with a solo album as early as 1980, made an appearance on Koz's album Lucky Man, and had also scored hits with tunes like "Amazing Love" and "Forever." Koz's album The Dance remained on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz albums charts for more than 100 weeks; his more recent release, Dave Koz & Friends: A Smooth Jazz Christmas, is at Number One on this week's chart. Perry's current album is titled Magic.
