NEW YORK (EMI Gospel) - Darwin Hobbs has been making a name for himself for quite sometime now with several recordings and background contributions under his belt before even making his own. When he first came to the forefront, to me he sounded like Luther Vandross and I think that was the goal was for association with a known name, which in my observation has gotten him as far as he has come. He has released albums since his debut and now on his latest release it seems that he has obtained the goal that he has been after all these years and that is to release an album that reflects what God has called us all to be…a 'Worshipper'. The whole feel of this CD is simply worship. It is absolutely beautiful and awesome to me. I have to say that 'Lord We Rejoice' is an incredible song. However, the song that I just cannot seem to let go is the absolutely gorgeous and wonderful 'Glorify Him'. That song is sheer praise and worship excellence and musical magnificence. I could not get past that song for about 2 weeks. 'The Worshipper's Medley' is wonderful as well but nothing to me tops that song so I guess I will end my review here. I am now a growing fan of Darwin Hobbs. I plan to see him in concert because I believe Israel Houghton and Aaron Lindsey producing this album was the best thing to ever happen to his career.
