Malibu, CA (THIRD EYE MANAGEMENT) - Healer was formed by Ivan de Prume, drummer/percussionist and founding member of the multi-platinum selling band White Zombie. In July of 2003, from his Los Angeles studio, Ivan began composing songs to forge his musical vision into the sonic masterpiece that would become the band's debut release, 'Awakening'. Joining de Prume in creating Healer's eclectic sound is: vocalist, guitar player Scott von Heldt from Kurai and Theater of Madness; bassist Jerry Scott from XYZ and Molly Hatchett; and violinist, Martin St-Pierre from Cirque Du Soleil. There is an energy that is unique in Healer's 'Awakening'. Colorful percussive rhythms, soul-stirring vocals and a soaring violin enmesh with an insistent backline to combine into a seamless soundscape of exotic Middle Eastern melodies. Where else can you experience a heavy metal band, a violinist from Cirque Du Soleil and belly dancers all on the same stage? More importantly, Healer will set out to follow in the footsteps of U2 front man Bono to bring awareness to the masses, specifically on environmental issues, alternative resources for energy and the protection of our oceans and marine life. Check out their web site www.healerband.com to join their street team and learn more about the band on a mission to heal the Earth.
