LOS ANGELES (campjamusa.com) - NAMM Members will have the chance to promote their companies to an audience of pre-teen and teen music makers in their local markets, thanks to a new partnership between NAMM's teen initiative themusicedge.com and Camp Jam, a rock 'n' roll summer day camp for kids ages 11 to 17.
Camp Jam recently announced the launch of a 10-city Camp Jam Rock 'n' Roll Spring Tour that will offer young musicians, bands and vocalists an interactive rock 'n' roll experience and backstage look at the one-of-a-kind camp visiting their city this summer. Young music students attending the five-day Camp Jam sessions receive instruction on guitar, bass, keyboard, drums or vocals by professional instructors and have access to top-of-the-line gear provided by NAMM Members Peavey and Yamaha.
NAMM Members who participate—for free— in the Camp Jam Rock 'n' Roll Spring Tour will receive the following benefits:
Inclusion in local ads that promote the mini camps.
The opportunity to provide promotional information and coupons in "prize packs" that are handed out during the mini-camp event.
Banner space on site at the mini camps
Inclusion in the Camp Scholarship give-away radio promotion, valued at $500, at no cost to Members.
Complimentary "NAMM / Camp Jam 2006" promotional items to display in their stores.
Camp Jam Rock 'n' Roll Spring Tour will stop in all markets where Camp Jam is scheduled to hold sessions during the summer of 2006. Dates and cities along the tour include:
March 18 – Philadelphia, Pa.
March 19 – Washington DC
March 25 – Atlanta, Ga.
March 26 – Orlando, Fla.
April 1 – Houston, Texas
April 2 – Dallas, Texas
April 4 - St. Louis, Mo.
April 8 – Chicago, Ill.
April 9 – Detroit, Mich.
April 11 – Cleveland, Ohio
In each city along the tour, Camp Jam will host a live music event featuring the Camp Jam Tour Van, a mini-concert setup with full backline, instruments and sound system, a backstage area, video presentation, Q&A session and a citywide "Teen Rock Solo Contest."
"The Camp Jam Rock 'n' Roll Spring Tour will give young musicians a taste of the Camp Jam experience and demonstrate how it is filling a much needed void," said Dan Lipson, co-founder with Carlisi of Camp Jam Co. "They have camps for young athletes, while young rock musicians are often left on their own without opportunities to improve their skills in a group setting or meet and play rock 'n' roll with others their age. With Camp Jam, we're providing this opportunity."
