Radio to Debut Eagerly Anticipated Albums On-Demand on Station Web Sites

Total Number of Weekly Video On-Demand Plays Up More Than 1000% This Year
Clear Channel Radio's Online Unit reached a milestone today as 900 of its radio stations Web sites are simultaneously offering exclusive, on-demand content to its audience, demonstrating its position as a major player in on-demand programming. This marks the biggest week ever for the unit, which has seen tremendous growth since its launch in March 2005. Clear Channel Radio station Web sites will be the only place to hear the latest albums from Rihanna and Godsmack before they are released and to check out Carrie Underwood's exclusive, in-studio STRIPPED performance.
"We have some of the greatest artists choosing Clear Channel Radio to debut their content exclusively on-demand on our sites," said Evan Harrison, Executive Vice President of Clear Channel Radio and head of the company's Online Unit. "Godsmack has a devout rock audience and Rihanna's 'SOS' is burning up the charts. It's an honor to offer our millions of listeners the first chance to experience these eagerly anticipated releases as well as an intimate STRIPPED recording with Carrie Underwood."
Since the beginning of this year, Clear Channel Radio began delivering original, on-demand content to listeners, the total number of plays has increased more than 1000%, averaging 1.3 million plays per week. In January, the company rolled out its Videos on Demand program, featuring videos from Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, EMI Music and others and has grown from 16 radio station Web sites to over 700 in less than three months!
Chart-topping R&B songstress Rihanna also gives listeners a "Sneak Peek" of her second album A Girl Like Me. Over 115 Clear Channel Radio station Web sites will offer exclusive access to the album's thirteen hot, new tracks which drops in stores on April 25. Rockers Godsmack are making 6 tracks from their new album, Godsmack IV available from Tuesday, April 18 - Sunday, April 23 through "Sneak Peek." More than 85 Clear Channel Radio Rock stations will be featuring the tracks online, on-demand before the album lands in stores on April 25.
'American Idol' winner Carrie Underwood joins the company's exclusive in-studio performance series, STRIPPED. Carrie performs songs off her triple platinum debut album, Some Hearts, including her 6 week No 1 hit "Jesus Take the Wheel," "Before He Cheats," "Some Hearts," "Don't Forget to Remember Me," and a cover of Rascal Flatts' "Bless the Broken Road." Her STRIPPED performance will be available on over 290 Clear Channel Radio station Web sites beginning Tuesday, April 18, 2006.
A very special mystery artist's "Sneak Peek" will also be offered this week, beginning Monday, April 17 through Thursday, April 20. This legendary artist's latest album will be available in its entirety on-demand on over 380 Clear Channel Radio station Web sites. Don't miss it!
