NEW YORK (Atlantic Records) - Atlantic recording group Billy Talent has announced details of their eagerly awaited new album. Dubbed "BILLY TALENT II," the 13-track collection is the Toronto-based band's first new music since the 2003 release of their breakthrough self-titled debut. "BILLY TALENT II" is set to land in stores across North America on June 27th.

"BILLY TALENT II" sees the band taking punk to new heights, amplifying the explosive energy and earnest lyricism that made their debut an international sensation. Powerful new songs like "Devil In A Midnight Mass," "Surrender" and "Red Flag" are alive with the band's personal blend of angular angst and irresistible popcraft, all given distinctive focus via singer Ben Kowalewicz' inventive, issues-oriented songwriting. (tracklisting attached)

Recorded last winter at Bryan Adams' Warehouse Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia, "BILLY TALENT II" was produced by Gavin Brown, who previously helmed the band's eponymous debut, with co-production from guitarist Ian D'Sa. The album was mixed earlier this year by the legendary Chris Lord-Alge.

Billy Talent are currently in England, introducing fans to their new material as second-stage headliners at the sold-out Give It A Name Festival, sharing the bill with such artists as My Chemical Romance, Panic! At The Disco, and Taking Back Sunday. In June, they'll return to the UK for an appearance at the Download Festival, the world-famous hard rock celebration at Castle Donington. From there, the band head to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland for a series of headline dates and festival showcases. In late July, the band will join up with the Vans Warped Tour for a three-week run towards the trek's final date, set for August 13th at Montreal's Parc Jean Drapeau. (itinerary attached)

After more than a decade of hard work and nearly non-stop touring, Billy Talent hit the punk mainstream in 2003 with the Atlantic release of their self-titled debut album. Fuelled by singles such as the boisterous "Try Honesty," the album led to the band's widespread success in Canada (where it went 3x Platinum) and Europe, while also kick-starting the birth of an intensely loyal fan following in the U.S. Over the course of the next two years, Billy Talent toured the globe repeatedly, sharing stages with heroes like Jane's Addiction and Buzzcocks. In addition, the band received a variety of honors, including three MuchMusic Video Awards, three Juno Awards, and a CASBY Award.
