NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Top40 Charts) - Dwight Yoakam will be making another appearance on the big screen next week, when Panic Room starring Jodie Foster, Forrest Whitaker, and the singer opens in theaters nationwide. Yoakam became interested in the film after meeting with the film's director, David Fincher and seeing the film's impressive soundstage. "It was literally a half a New York City block built on a sound stage and I became completely intrigued with how he was going to approach filming this movie. It was very much a throwback to kind of the old studio-style filmmakers like Hitchcock," he told. "And I said to him (Fincher) when I first saw him, 'This is very much like, kind of Rear Window.' And he said, 'Yeah, it's Rear Window meets Straw Dogs.' I said, 'Wow, OK.'" Yoakam, who plays a villain in the film, says the picture is quite scary. "I'm excited about having been in it and I think it's going to be an entertaining movie for folks," he said. "I haven't seen the whole movie yet, I just saw what I saw when we were looping. But the people that I talked to have seen it said it's maybe one of the most frightening thrillers they've seen in a long, long time." Panic Room opens on March 29.
