LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts) - After a two-year hiatus, Oasis is going to give it another go with the release of its fifth studio album, Heathen Chemistry, which has just been confirmed for a July release date. The album, produced by the band and mixed by Mark Spike Stent (U2, Madonna, Bjork), is the follow-up to 2000's Standing on the Shoulder of Giants, which didn't fare well in the U.S. Although the track listing hasn't been finalized yet, the album will feature 11 songs, including the first U.K. single, "Hindu Times"; "Songbird" (written and sung by Liam Gallagher); "Hung in a Bad Place" (written by guitarist Gem Archer, and sung by Liam); and "Force of Nature" (written and sung by Noel Gallagher). The latter song is also from the British film Love, Honor, and Obey. A world tour is in the works. For now, the band has already confirmed a few dates -- April 26, the Joint, Las Vegas and April 28, Indio, Calif., Coachella Valley Music and Artists Festival.
