September 26th at the Eisemann Center in Richardson,
Texas the �crème de le crème' of the classic country, western and western swing industry will be recognized. The AWA has been hosting the first class awards for the past ten years and this year for the first time they will be recognize the classic country with a category.
Nominees include:
Classic Country: Dale Watson, James Hand, Jamie Richards, Dallas Wayne, Justin Trevino, Amber Digby, Heather Myles, Sunny Sweeney, Liz Talley, Leona Williams, Miss Leslie and her Juke Jointers, The Cornell Hurd Band, The Derailers, The Lucky Tomblin Band, The Hoyle Brothers, and Marti Brom.

The AWA is also pleased to announce that the legendary Hank Thompson will be the recipient of the Will Rogers Lifetime Achievement Award during the award night celebrations.
The First Annual Classic Country Broadcasters Convention is set to convene at the same time in the same location with registrants representing all facets of the classic country radio industry from terrestrial, satellite to independent, community based broadcasters. Artists and music industry representatives will also be in attendance.
The groundbreaking convention will be kicked off on the morning of September 26th with a keynote address by respected country music historian, author, musician and radio broadcaster Bill C. Malone. Bill was recently nominated for an IBMA Award for his collaborative effort with Rod Moag on 'Remember Me – A Tribute to the Music of the Bailes Brothers'
Scheduled to perform during the ceremonies on the evening of September 26th, include: Heather Myles, The Hoyle Brothers, Claude Diamond, Todd Fritsch, Justin Trevino, Dave Alexander and his Big Band, Sisters of the Silver Sage, Ginny Mac and more.
Informative and provocative panels will be presented over the two day convention.
