NEW YORK (Billboard) - Webcaster Radio Free Virgin announced deals with RioPort and MuchMusic USA on Tuesday. Under the RioPort deal, RFV users will be able to purchase downloads of certain tracks and albums they hear on the Webcaster's 40-plus channels.
Consumers can purchase the RioPort downloads at the RFVstore. RioPort has digital-distribution deals with all five majors. Meanwhile, RFV is creating online versions of two MuchMusic TV shows: "Oven Fresh," featuring new songs from established and emerging acts, and "Mixtape Masterpiece," in which fan-selected playlists are built around a weekly theme. RFV and MuchMusic are also launching a co-branded player with a "buy" button that links to the RFV store.
