Pavarotti's Picnic raises big bucks

NEW YORK (Billboard) - Luciano Pavarotti's Picnic in the Park concert July 14 in London's Hyde Park raised $700,000 for the Prince's Trust, the charity founded by the Prince of Wales. Earlier in the month, Capital Radio's pop-driven Party In the Park raised some $1.4 million for the trust, which benefits young people. Charlotte Church, Vanessa-Mae and Russell Watson also performed at the Picnic for the sold out crowd of 70,000.
