Atlanta, GA (ADA CREATIVE COMMUNICATIONS) - The 2nd Annual Mainstreet Jazz Festival will once again treat jazz lovers to a special evening of smooth jazz under the stars in Stone Mountain, Ga., on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will feature performances by local jazz favorites, Daysahead and Indigo Sunset. Music critics have described Daysahead as "Pat Metheny meets Chaka Khan." The band's eclectic, engaging brand of music is embroidered with the fabric of jazz, soul, rock-n-roll, and occasional Latin influences - creating the distinctive Daysahead sound. The Daysahead debut CD "Turning Point" features the compelling vocals of Kimberly Leachman and the energetic artistry of guitarist Steve Wright. Also on the bill is Indigo Sunset, a six-member band of seasoned musicians. With the release of their recent self-titled CD, Indigo Sunset brings to audiences a refreshing and bold blend of jazz and neo-soul that is textured by the smooth vocals of Jason Sylvain and the creative improvisations of keyboardist and musical director John Beal. In addition to the concert, the jazz festival will include an exhibit by local artists who will have on display and for sale original artwork in various mediums. Advance general admission/lawn tickets are $10 and VIP admission tickets are $20 (table seating by the pool, along with a complimentary table gift). Concert attendees may bring picnic baskets and coolers. To purchase tickets online visit www.ticketalternative.com. To charge by phone, call 1 (877) 725-8849.
