(BREAK OUT ENTERTAINMENT) - If the names John Beasely, Robert Hurst, Gary Novak and Steve Tavaglione don't immediately ring a bell, then you don't know good jazz. The aforementioned gentlemen comprise The John Beasely quartet, the best of the best when it comes to jazz groups. With Beasely on piano, Hurst on bass, Novak kicking it on the drums and Tavaglione blowing on the sax, their music and style of play has become legendary on the West coast.

Beasely, who has played with all the greats including names like Miles Davis and James Brown, is in a class all by himself. At The Vic For Jazz on the 13th, he will be playing from his trio CD, "Surfacing," with Robert Hurst and Vinnie Colaiuta and his live CD, "One Night Live" with Ralph Moore, Gary Novak, Dave Carpenter and Carlos Del Puerto. Beasely is coming off from playing with James Brown at the Hollywood Bowl and will be playing with Kyle Eastwood (Clint Eastwood's son) in September, as well.

The Vic For Jazz has played host to many of the best musicians in the world and the Beasely Quartet certainly fits the bill. Word is already out that jazz entusiasts and fans are flying in from the East coast for the gig, as well as many of the top players in the country. Seeing the John Beasely quartet in action is as much an event as a jazz gig.
