BURBANK, CA (Warner Bros. Records) - Critically heralded pedal steel guitarist, singer, and songwriter Robert Randolph and his Family Band have provided the theme music for six editions of the debut season of "Saturday Night Football" on ABC, the first-ever weekly primetime college football series on broadcast television, which airs every Saturday at 8 p.m. EST.

Robert Randolph & The Family Band taped a performance of "Thrill Of It," from their upcoming CD "Colorblind," in mid-August at the rooftop Pontiac Garage in New York City's Times Square, which has been edited into a video montage that will open the telecast and be featured in combination with relevant college football highlights from that week's game.

As part of the 12-week series, Randolph's theme song will be used in a rotating every other week format, beginning with the second telecast on September 9th, pitting No 1 Ohio State at No 2 Texas. Similar to the "Saturday Night Football" Presented by Southwest Airlines marketing campaign with the slogan, "College Football Lives Here," the opening theme song will showcase the rivalries, tradition, and memorable moments that define college football plus the great individual matchups the series will offer. The Family Band, which includes Randolph's cousins Danyel Morgan on bass and Marcus Randolph on drums, as well as keyboard player Jason Crosby, will release their third album, "Colorblind" - a potent mix of rock, R&B, country, blues, and gospel - on October 10th on Warner Bros. Records. The first single "Thrill Of It" has already garnered early rock airplay at Q104 in New York City and other major markets, including Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, San Francisco and Nashville. The video for "Thrill Of It," an urban visual ride directed by Lenny Bass with Robert Randolph at the forefront of the imagery, was recently shot at a sound-stage in Los Angeles.

Robert Randolph & The Family Band have also announced a headlining tour starting next month on October 25th in Nashville and culminating November 17th in New York City. In addition, the band will perform their new single "Thrill Of It" on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel LIVE" on September 7th.
