(Tsunami Group Inc) -- The New Orleans rap group Sqad Up and their label Money Yung'n Records have signed a partnership with Def Jam Recordings for their sophomore album entitled, 'We Here Now.' Executives at Def Jam first noticed Sqad Up's movement created by MYR and assumed because of the continuous National self promotions, media coverage and street promotions that the group was already signed to a major situation. Respecting the effort and strategies already put in place, Def Jam pursued the partnership to secure one of the hottest groups to come out of the South. "We wanted to embark on this partnership because there is no other group out right now that is as recognizable as Sqad Up. Through their own movement they have been able to brand themselves so well in the industry and the public's eye that whether separate or together there is no denying who they are and what they stand for as a whole. We look forward to working with Money Yung'n Records and together we plan to take Sqad Up to the next level in '07", says VP of A&R Island/Def Jam, Tyran 'TyTy' Smith. With the support of Def Jam, Money Yung'n Records is looking to secure higher visibility for Sqad Up which inevitability will create a variety of high level opportunities. The joint venture also brings major media for increased exposure and worldwide distribution. Def Jam understands the effort it takes to continuously build an artist by developing a strong support system. MYR is working closely with the marketing and promotions departments at Def Jam to insure a successful project. "We are looking forward to further strengthening and building the Money Yung'n Records/Sqad Up movement and brand with the full support of Jay-Z and Def Jam", says MYR Executive Jay Exclusive, "the signing also brings stronger business relationships to the forefront." Sqad Up will join the ranks of the highly successful Def Jam roster which includes Rick Ross, Young Jeezy and Ludacris. Sqad Up is currently in the studio recording new tracks for 'We Here Now' due out in late spring '07, with several notable producers. Fans can look forward to a bonus DVD to accompany the album as well as a new Sqad Up website and Myspace page that will include exclusive music and photos.
