SYDNEY, AU. (SONY BMG MUSIC Entertainment) - 19-year old rap prodigy Bow Wow returns with his fifth album 'The Price Of Fame' on January 13, and already he's steaming up charts with the first single 'Shortie Like Mine' feat. Chris Brown - now at No 1 on the US Billboard Rap Charts. But beware, the less-innocent rapper says he's coming back to push the edge... You'd know him as the baby-faced rap prodigy Lil' Bow Wow who brought you the 2000 smash album 'Beware Of Dog' and stamped his name into yer music-lovin' heads with the huge single 'Bow Wow (That's My Name)' featuring Snoop Dogg.

In the six years since, the whiz kid's gone on to win a place in the Guiness Book Of Records, be the youngest artist to ever open the Grammy Awards, and clock loads of smash singles and albums to become a bona-fide multi-platinum recording artist.

Not bad for a guy turning 20 in March! Now, he's back and all grown up with a new album due in stores Saturday, January 13 titled 'The Price Of Fame'.

Less innocent now, Bow Wow says the album, produced by long-time collaborator Jermain Dupri, is "definitely pushing the edge".

"This is definitely a straight, edgy rap album," he told NME.com, adding that it's the "ghettoest street record I've ever done and the only record on the album that we really had to clean up."

Pulling guests like R. Kelly, Lil Scrappy, Lil Wayne, T-Pain and Da Brat along for the ride, the album features 12 tracks with Bow Wow spilling sharp lyrics like: "I'm letting people feel my pain, letting them know what I've been through this year alone".

'The Price Of Fame' has already spawned a US No 1 spot on the Billboard Monitor Rap Chart with recent Grammy winner Chris Brown jumping on board in the track 'Shortie Like Mine'.

Written by singer/songwriter Johnta Austin, 'Shortie Like Mine' can now be heard on Bow Wow's Myspace page where you can also check out the video directed by Bryan Barber (Outkast, 'Idlewild'). Keep an ear out when it comes to Aussie radio this Feb...

'The Price of Fame' follows his last album 'Wanted' (2005) which featured the US No 1 Rap singles 'Let Me Hold You feat. Omarion' & 'Like You feat. Ciara'. Sure to be another super-selling smash for the rap star, 'The Price Of Fame' will be featured in the upcoming urban campaign THA411... stay tuned!
