NEW YORK, NY (MTV) - MTV: Music Television announced today that the channel will host the glitziest music event of the season. "MTV Goes Gold: New Year's Eve 2007" will air live from MTV's Times Square studios on Sunday, December 31st from 11:00PM ET to 12:30AM ET (tape delayed PT). Straight from the party capital of the world - New York's Times Square, this year's star-studded event will feature performances by Gwen Stefani, Nas, Pussycat Dolls, Ciara, AFI, Chamillionaire, Lady Sovereign, Three 6 Mafia and appearances by Timbaland, Fall Out Boy, Hayden Panitierre and Perez Hilton. Celebrating the season and the gleam of gold, MTV VJs Damien Fahey, Vanessa Minnillo, Susie Castillo, Stephen Coletti and Cipha Sounds will usher in 2007 with an audience full of revelers decked out in their classiest 24-karat gold attire.

"Once again, we are planning the biggest party in Times Square this New Year's Eve, guaranteeing fans at home, and here in our studio, a truly memorable celebration to welcome the new year," says Dave Sirulnick, Executive VP, Multiplatform, Production News and Music. "Fans will be treated to an entire night of star-studded performances and appearances, on-air and online, as we welcome an all-star list of talent, and celebrate the music, people and moments of 2006."

For those who want to bring the party inside, MTV.com will feature performances from "MTV Goes Gold: New Year's Eve 2007," on-demand, immediately following the on-air show. The interactive party on MTV's New Year's Eve site will also include celebrity playlists, as well as, party anthem playlists submitted by viewers. In addition, MTV Goes Gold: Bling in the New Year Contest will give five lucky winners the opportunity to join in on the festivities. Fans can enter the contest online at https://www.mtvgoesgold.com, to win an all expense paid trip to New York City and the chance to see their favorite artists perform live.

In addition, select radio stations will give their listeners the chance to win a trip to New York City for New Year's Eve. Twenty qualifying listeners from each station will win MTV's exclusive New Year's Eve newsboy cap & scarf, and one lucky grand prize winner will get the trip of a lifetime to New York City and a golden ticket to the "MTV Goes Gold: New Year's Eve 2007" bash. Radio stations confirmed to participate include: XM Radio, KPWR (LA), WHTZ (NY), WJHM (Orlando), KHTS (San Diego), WIOQ (Philadelphia), KBXX (Houston) and KPNT (St. Louis).
