Washington, D.C. (East Coast Entertainment) - The Right On Band, a '70s show band from Virginia Beach, Virginia, performed on Monday, December 4th, at the White House during the U.S. Congressional Ball, the annual holiday party for the Senate and House of Representatives. It was the band's second time performing for President
George W. Bush and First Lady
Laura Bush. Right On was one of several entertainers at the Presidential Inauguration in January 2005.
We are honored to have performed again for the President of the United States Right On also has performed for President Bill Clinton and former First Lady Hillary Clinton, as well as celebrities including Katie Couric, Donald Trump, John Grisham, Don King, Denise Austin and others.
"We are honored to have performed again for the President of the United States," said Nigel Holland, the band's keyboard player and front man. "It's quite a kick to get on stage at the White House and see the leaders of our country having so much fun during our performance.
Right On does not have a record contract nor does it receive radio airplay. Its popularity among celebrities and other notables has grown solely through word-of-mouth, and continues to grow. Right On was formed in 1996, when Holland moved to Virginia after an accident in New York left him legally blind. Always a music lover, Holland invited friends to perform his original songs, including the band's novelty hit "The Hiney Song," but the band soon morphed into a full-on '70s show band complete with psychedelic costumes and a repertoire that keeps the dance floor packed for hours.
Specializing in Motown, Disco, and 70s Funk, with the ability to perform hits from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, & today, Right On is America's "Ultimate Show Band". Right On has played in 37 different states - including international venues - and performed with national acts including Little Richard, K C & the Sunshine Band, The Doobie Brothers, Hall & Oates, The Beach Boys, The Spinners, The Four Tops, Patti Labelle, The Commodores, Morris Day & the Time, and The Village People.
