New York, NY (MTV2) - Halifax Joins Former MTV2 Dew Circuit Breakout Alumni Hellogoodbye, Yellowcard and Taking Back Sunday and Wins Dream Promotional Package New York, NY, December 11, 2006 - Halifax was crowned the winner of the 2006 MTV2 Dew Circuit Breakout, joining the ranks of Dew Circuit Breakout alumni Hellogoodbye, Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday and Hawthorne Heights.

Among the vast list of prizes this victory title grants Halifax a $15,000 shopping spree and promotional opportunities at Guitar Center, a profile in a future issue of Alternative Press magazine, guest appearances and exposure on future MTV2 programs and tours, an opportunity to be on a future EA video game soundtrack and a secured open slot to perform as part of The Bamboozle 2007 festival.

Hosted by MTV2 VJ Jim Shearer, each of the Dew Circuit Breakout finalists - Halifax, Fallen from the Sky, and Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer - brought their game faces for the finalist battle in the MTV Times Square studio last Saturday, December 2nd, having already beat out hundreds of competing bands for a finalist position. Fans voted for their favorite band on www.MTV2.com and wirelessly through Verizon - which generated more than 3.8 million votes throughout the semi-final and final rounds. The results were announced on air during the live finale on MTV2 this past Saturday, December 9th.
