Michigan rockers Ted Nugent and Kid Rock served as surprise guest co-hosts for the former Van Halen frontmen's show Friday (May 31) at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Independence Township, Mich. They introduced Hagar and offered updates on the deciding Detroit Red Wings-Colorado Avalanche game, which the Wings eventually won 7-0. Nugent offered a musical hand as well, stumbling through an encore of the Troggs' "Wild Thing" with Hagar, who donned a Red Wings jersey during most of the show. The next night, Saturday (June 1), Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony made a surprise appearance during Hagar's half of the show at the Tweeter Center in Tinley Park, Ill. Early in his set, Anthony emerged for "Top of the World," the first of a fistful of "Van Hagar" tunes that joined Hagar and Anthony. Later, Hagar introduced Anthony and jokingly manufactured Anthony's alibi. "You didn't even know there was a rock show, tonight?" Hagar said to Anthony. "Yeah, that's what you'll tell the brothers." The crowd laughed, and Anthony urinated on Hagar with a plastic bottle of water. If you thought Anthony was "pissed," wait until Eddie and Alex find out. Anthony re-emerged for the encore, "Dreams" and a truncated a cappella version of "Cabo Wabo."
