LOS ANGELES, CA. and NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ ASCAP) - The All-American Rejects will be honored with ASCAP's Vanguard Award at the 24th Annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards, which will also salute the songwriters and publishers of ASCAP's most performed pop songs of 2006. The invitation-only event will be held on April 18, 2007 at The Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. The band's principal songwriters Tyson Ritter and Nick Wheeler will also receive two ASCAP Pop Awards for "Dirty Little Secret" and "Move Along," and will perform during the awards ceremony.

Other 2007 ASCAP Pop Award-winning songwriters scheduled to perform are: The Fray's Joe King and Isaac Slade ("Over My Head," "How To Save A Life"), Nick Lachey ("What's Left Of Me" - co-written by Lachey, Emanuel Kiriakou and Lindy Robbins), Anna Nalick ("Breathe (2AM)"), and Darrell Brown, Ty Lacy and Dennis Matkosky (Keith Urban's "You'll Think of Me").

Confirmed attendees who will also receive special recognition include: Melissa Etheridge, Kelly Clarkson, Jermaine Dupri and Johntà Austin.

The ASCAP Vanguard Award is given in recognition of the impact of musical genres that help shape the future of American music. Past honorees include: The Arcade Fire, Beck, Modest Mouse, the Strokes, Built to Spill, the Mars Volta, Joseph Arthur and Jack Johnson.

Since bursting onto the scene with their eponymous 2002 certified platinum debut album, the All-American Rejects have helped reshape the sound of contemporary American radio with such songs as "Swing Swing" and "The Last Song." Their most recent album, the double platinum selling "Move Along," has already spawned three major hit singles - the album's title track, "Dirty Little Secret," as well as their latest hit, "It Ends Tonight." All three tracks have reached the Top 10 on the CHR/Top 40 charts and collectively have sold over four million downloads on iTunes.

The 24th Annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards is part of ASCAP's "I Create Music Week" - an entire week of events being held in Los Angeles to celebrate the voice of the music creator. Members of the press may apply for credentials at https://www.ascap.com/press/pressroom/popawards/.
