San Francisco, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Eenie Meenie Records) - The rock n' roll party machine that is Scissors for Lefty has been cutting across the country armed with songs from its forthcoming full-length, UNDERHANDED ROMANCE, due June 12 on Eenie Meenie Records, and has no intention of slowing down. The San Francisco fivesome just finished a run of dates with The French Kicks, then stopped at SXSW where they made the hordes dance and sweat to their self-coined "pillow talk pop." They immediately hopped on the road with Locksley and will continue to tour throughout April, inching their way back to the Golden State.
The band will be part of a unique immersion of art and music when the two come together at San Francisco's Museum of Modern Art's "The Modern Ball," Wednesday, May 2. The special evening will feature music and entertainment among the museum's renowned collection of modern and contemporary art. The Hyperactive Music Festival in Albuquerque, N.M. will be the next stop for Scissors For Lefty; the three-day event will be filled with panels, discussions, music, film, and more than 120 performing artists spread across multiple venues.
Fueled by Malaysian pop songs, intense Beatles fixations, influential British indie labels, late night hot tub parties, '80s dance nights, KISS solo records and brotherly love, UNDERHANDED ROMANCE, captures the band's exuberant, flirtatious sound perfectly. Produced/engineered by Charles Goodan (Beck, Santana, The Dust Brothers) and mixed by Mark Needham (The Killers, Fleetwood Mac, Chris Isaac), the album is a lighthearted respite - a superb summer soundtrack.
