DALLAS, TX. (Top40 Charts/ Blacklight Management) - The long awaited debut album 'Grand Entrance' being released by TenMIL
Music / Blackwerks Entertainment will drop May 8th. From Hamilton Park (HP), Dallas' north-side, Mista Long is a new breed of MC from the South that makes the East Coast nervous about their presence in hip hop's future. With current lack luster CD sales in the music industry and the claim that hip hop is dead, Mista Long delivers where most fall off. 'Grand Entrance' is a showcase of Mista Long's certified street hustle.
With artists like Mista Long beginning to surface after years of bubbling under, the Dallas hip hop scene is the new black gold for the music industry. 'Since Nemesis did it, I knew then I wanted to represent my city in the game,' explains Mista Long. 'I'm just trying to give Dallas a voice and 'Grand Entrance' gave me a ghetto pulpit.'
'This album means a lot to me, especially with what I've been through to get to this point. When I got out of the penitentiary as a 3 time drug felon, I realized that the streets might show you love but they don't love you, so I started focusing on this music hustle,' says Mista Long. 'The title 'Grand Entrance' came from me grinding as an artist from Dallas not getting that respect. I had to prove to these labels that passed on me - what they passed on. I started my own label TenMIL Music and started recording the album with producers Big Al, Nick Taylor, Mr. Cleva' and The Franchize who all did the production for 'Grand Entrance'.
'This album is what Dallas needs. 'Grand Entrance' will give this city a voice with Mista Long narrating the story,' said Sheryl V. Glenn, Founder and CEO of Blacklight Management. 'This is just a few chapters of a Long story. This is real music for real people.'
'Mista Long is solid proof that hip hop isn't dead – it just lives in the South. Independent albums like 'Grand Entrance' allows hip hop to be born again. Long is a part of the 2nd renaissance of hip hop. This album gives you an alternative to what you already heard a thousand times before,' says Drew Diggs, managing partner of Blacklight Management.
'Grand Entrance' is full of chin-droppers that give this album substance. 'Lane 2 Lane', the record that started it all with the Dallas S.W.A.T mixtape 'Kick Doe Artists', will be leading up the charge. Mista Long put his lyrical swagger on cruise for the Cadillacs and box Chevys. 'Take It Off' is the single that's stripping strippers down to the skin. This record is taking off in strip joints across the Southwest region. Being a favorite amongst dancers, the song spills the game on dancers. 'Drank or Dank' will be a favorite amongst hardcore substance supporters on college campuses. 'Mama Raised No Fool' is nothing but that funk with syrupy bass-lines and Mista Long's story telling delivery. This song you can ride too with your top down. 'Scandalous' puts gold diggers, baby momma drama, and boppers on blast. 'Like it or Not' hits a chord with the South not being respected in Hip Hop. Mista Long addresses the East coast's suggestion that the South is the reason why - hip hop is dead. His flow shined and drew a line in the sand for all those who want it. 'Grand Entrance' is full of jewels.
