Gretchen Wilson begins an eight-day whirlwind media tour this Wednesday, May 9, when she hits New York City, Las
Vegas and Los Angeles for a host of television appearances promoting her much-anticipated third album One of the Boys – in stores May 15, 2007.
She and her band return to the morning show that helped kick off her rocket ship career when she performs on the 'Today Show' Friday morning, May 11. (Her first appearance on the show was June 2, 2004.) 'Access Hollywood ' will catch up with her following the 'Today Show' for a feature that will air over the weekend. The previous day, May 10, she will tape an appearance on 'Live with Regis & Kelly' that is scheduled to air Monday, May 21, and she will pay a visit to Sirius Satellite Radio to record an interview and live versions of several songs from One of the Boys.
Friday afternoon, she will jet to Las Vegas to rehearse her part in the 'VH-1 Rock Honors' at Mandalay Bay Events Center . The second annual show, which pays homage to the legends who influenced the sound of rock, will honor Genesis, Heart, Ozzy Osbourne and ZZ Top. Gretchen, who befriended Ann and Nancy Wilson almost three years ago, will take the stage to sing Heart's famous hit 'Barracuda.' The show tapes Saturday, May 12 and airs on VH-1 Thursday, May 24.
On Sunday, May 13, Gretchen will take over the famed Fremont Street Experience with a free concert to promote the new album. The concert begins at 10:00 p.m. and will feature several special guests. After visiting with numerous radio stations on Monday, she will attend Tuesday's 42nd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards where she is nominated for her duet with Merle Haggard on 'Politically Uncorrect' and the rousing multi-artist Hank Williams, Jr. single 'That's How They Do It In Dixie' in the 'Vocal Event of the Year' category.
Immediately following the ACM Awards and a visit to Blair Garner's popular 'After Midnite' radio program, she will bus to Los Angeles for a May 16 appearance to sing 'One of the Boys' on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.'
Gretchen produced One of the Boys with the help of Mark Wright and John Rich, who both had a hand in producing her first two discs Here For The Party and All Jacked Up. The two albums have combined sales of over six million units.
