NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Miss Universe Organization) - The Miss Universe Organization announced today that Mexican singing sensation RBD will perform three songs from their award winning album Rebelde during the two-hour LIVE telecast which will simulcast on NBC and Telemundo on May 28, 2007 at 9:00 p.m. ET/delayed PT.

The six young charismatic vocalists that power RBD - Anahi, Dulce Maria, Maite, Christopher, Christian and Alfonso "Poncho" will perform at the National Auditorium and sing their hit songs "Money Money," "Carino Mio" and "Wanna Play."

"We are pleased to announce that RBD will perform at this year's Miss Universe pageant," said Paula M. Shugart, President of the Miss Universe Organization. "Although they are known worldwide, they are the perfect addition to our telecast as we showcase Mexico and their hometown of Mexico City. The music and energy of RBD will enhance our telecast and excite the viewers at home as we crown Miss Universe 2007."

Upon its release in January 2005, RBD's debut album Rebelde initially shipped only 25,000 copies in their home country. Rebelde was such an immediate sensation that when RBD followed with Nuestro Amor eight months later, the new disc shattered the record books by going platinum in just seven hours. Rebelde soon reached diamond sales status, and the group's sold out Mexican tour - which included a six night stand at the capital's 22,500 person Palacio de los Deportes arena - was the country's fastest selling tour that year by a national act.

RBD will join hosts Vanessa Minnillo (former Miss Teen USA, 1999) and Mario Lopez (Extra weekend correspondent) to entertain fans in front of an estimated worldwide viewing audience of more than 600 hundred million in over 180 countries.
